The Lonely Hearts Guestbook

Ah the memories. Mick/John, do you remember playing a gig on a Tuesday night at the Comb & Cutter @ Blacktown. Lonely Hearts were the headline and supported by INXS (wankers). We were in Tooty's VW which got wiped out by some dick in the carpark. I still dine out out on that story. Take care.

Good to see Smithy was the first on the guestbook. Glad to see you are still alive.

The Lonely Hearts gigs were some of the best nights of my life, catching the hired coach from the Rooney household after John smacked us on the pool table; Or driving all over Sydney to catch the band. The beautiful girls on the dancefloor.Drugs, sex and rock n roll, and that was just the audience. Great music, good friends and just discovered the website that lets us relive it all over again. Well done Michael!

Still have the singles "Ambition " and 'Last kiss"
and still play them once and a while, those years were the best of my life, wandering the suburbs listening to "Green Valley"We westies would go off!

this band is one of the best bands i have ever heard from the 80s. You should get back together and make a comeback album.

Hi Guys, Its great to see the web site. I helped you guys out with some horn parts on Tenderhooks and In This Town back at Alberts studios in the early 80's. Tom got in contact with me recently and pointed me in this direction. Its been fantastic looking through the site. It would be great to get some full songs up to have a listen to. All the best. Let me know if the Red Giant album is going to be rereleased on CD I would love to buy a copy.

Best regards
Bruce

Thanks Michael for the memories.
I saw you guys many many times, all over the place. I remember once telling you all that I was a journalist for RAM magazine, just to cover the fact that I had turned up at a non alchohol gig (Oh the shame) somewhere near Magic Kingdom, and here I was dressed for the Manzil Room.
Do you remember there was a punk guy who would follow you around(tartan kilt, leather swastica jacket, doc martins & orange Mohawk)? I used to sneak up behind him a kick him every time I saw him and he would scamper away.
I was a few years older than you all, but got on really well with John who called to see me a couple of times when he was being the "Bill Poster" around Canterbury Road, Belmore.
Anyway, ready your memories and looking at the photos really flooded back great thoughts and feelings of the good old 70s pub scene. If I ever won lotto, I have always said I would rebuild the Lifesavers and get all you 70s/early 80s bands to play.

Hi Michael,
Wow, talk about strolling down memory lane! How is everyone, still alive is a good thing. FYI,I finally got my money from Peter Noble a few years after Canned Heat. I was at The Diplomat in Melbourne one night and heard he was staying there. Went to his room with a couple of gorillas at 3:00am and wouldn't leave until he paid me my $350, he seemed stunned, go figure! Anyway I have a pile of old Loney Heart work sheets if you are interested. Couldn't believe hearing some of the old songs, they are still great!!!
Tim
